Kenja's Newsletter & Updates

Volume 2/ Edition 19

December 22, 2000

Hello everyone

Welcome to Kenja's Newsletter - Christmas Edition 2000.

I hope everyone is enjoying this Holiday Season so far. Click on XMAS 103 to listen to artists like Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick Jr., N'Sync, James Brown, Bing Crosby, The Chipmunks and many more, to get into the Christmas spirit. *smile*

In case you were wondering... the newsletter had not been published in recent weeks due to continued health issues from my last cold. During that time I also quit smoking cigarettes (went 'cold turkey'). My sudden change in life style, even though for the better, brought on a whole new set of problems (extreme case of insomnia, some depression, and migraines from lack of caffeine). After I quit smoking, I lost my taste for coffee and gave up all caffeine as well (3 pots of coffee a day and soda).

The good news is that, my sleeping habits are finally improving, and I have been smoke free for well over a month now. *smile*

By the way, most smoking-aids are very expensive, and not likely covered by medical insurance(s). For more information on this issue visit Tobacco Free | Quitting, or read Stop Smoking and Curb Weight Gain (an article by Prevention Magazine).

Newsletter resumes 2nd week of January 2001!

Site Related News:

I have created and added new 22 Holiday Stationery and also updated the Stationery Help section. Newly added Stationery is now in EML Format (email message format). The revised Help section is very detailed and divided into three main sections of: General Use and Instructions, EML Format and EXE Format. Other help topics include, but are not limited to: how to download, save files, unzip files, use Outlook Express and/or Outlook, change stationery, overview of WinZip, and much more. All sections include instructions in Viewlet format (interactive step-by-step picture Instructions) and/or text and pictures.

New Stationery include ten sets of top scrolling borders, with matching background, animated snow, special cursor, and seasonal midi. Twelve Stationery sets have scrolling side bordered backgrounds with seasonal midi, and Season Greetings in some cases. All new Stationery have been added to Xmas4 through Xmas6.

Past Lives Revealed website offers original Inspirational & Angel Stationery for Outlook and/or Outlook Express users, free Greeting Cards, Mystic Desktop Enhancements (Desktop Themes & Wallpaper), get a reading (Palms, Clairvoyant, Dreams, Past Lives, Missing Items/People, Tarot, Herbalists, and many more) for the new year or visit our Chatroom for a live Reading and/or discussions.

The Gifts:

The Gifts for this issue are a Stationery in EML Format (scrolling top border background, seasonal midi, and animated snow) and a seasonal Wallpaper (800x600 screen settings) for non stationery users. Graphics for both stationery gift and Wallpaper gift are my own original creations made with PSP 7 (used various tubes and filters for effects).

* PLEASE NOTE: Gifts are only for actual subscribers (available for 5-7 days with each issue) and not for visitors to the newsletter archive at the website.

*** NOTE*   I use Zip Magic to compress Stationery and/or Desktop Theme files into EXE format. If you ever get a password prompt during installation... ignore it and proceed. They are not password protected! For more help with installation(s) visit the Help section at either Stationery, Theme Help, the Hotbar Skin Tutorial, or the WinAmp Skin sections.

All about Christmas:

For this issue I would like to concentrate on just the holiday season. Here you will find links for free programs, last minute shopping, kids, entertainment or just great links of general interest:

  • Wish people a Merry Christmas in over 350 Languages, listen to these countries National Anthems, look at these countries flags, learn about their languages or even about them. A very informative site, and not just at Christmas time.

  • Holidays on the Net | Free Christmas Music (hosted by MP3.com) offers a large variety of free Christmas tunes in MP3 format (not just to play but also to download to your hard drive). You will need a MP3 player like WinAmp (free) or Microsoft's own Media Player (latest version) to listen to these tunes.

  • How about a game of Elf Bowling or Elf Bowling II-Elves in Paradise. There are also many other games available at this site.... all are free and more or less Elf related. *smile*

  • Visit Santa's Secret Village at the North Pole for a chat with the Elves, sing along with Santa's Karaoke Player, listen to Santa's Radio station, do some coloring, write a special and personalized story or send some last minute Christmas cards to friends.

  • Another North Pole website with various nice activities for kids and adults alike. You can find anything from stories, Santa's history, games, coloring, links to various other sites and of course recipes.

More Christmas Stuff:

  • Free Christmas Software offers as the name says free software. Anything from free Screensavers to Icons, to decorating your own virtual Christmas House. The best screensavers offered there are Snow, Christmas Moments, and of course Holiday Lights (this is Shareware).

  • The site Happy Christmas looks at this holiday from a humorous side. You can recount your stories to others about your worst shopping experiences, share your Christmas catastrophes or tell them about the most useless gift you ever received or gave.

  • Ginger Bread Lane is the perfect site for anyone who wants to make their own Gingerbread House. You will find step by step instructions, beginners patterns, and links to many other sites offering related information. Great site. *smile*

  • The next three sites are probably among the largest and most popular Christmas sites. Of course all of them offer gifts, last minute shopping opportunities, entertainment, information, cards, games, and so much more: Christmas on the Net, Christmas.com and of course Christmas 2000 (visually most appealing... to me *smile*)

  • This last site is called Simply Bargains and will soon be every shoppers dream. Check out these great prices for all computer related wares. Printer Ink alone seems to be available for less than half price of what I pay around here. Awesome find... make sure to bookmark that one for great Savings!

Personally, I think this whole gift giving thing is totally over rated. Why wait for a special time of the year to show someone you care? Besides, giving a hand-made gift says so much more and shows that a great deal of thought went into it... after all, it is the thought that counts. Just my opinion! *smile*

Happy Holidays Everyone & Share with the less Fortunate!

  • On the Lighter Side of Life -:)

Poetic Justice or Men... Be careful what You wish for

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me, I work so hard, meantime my wife stays at home. I would give anything if you would grant me one wish: "switch me into my wife" she's got it easy at home, I want to teach her a lesson of how tough a man's life is. As God was listening he felt sorry for this soul and granted his wish.

Next morning the "new woman" wakes up at dawn, makes lunch boxes, prepares breakfast, wakes up the kids for school, puts a load of clothes in the washer, takes the meat out of the freezer, drives the kids to school, on his way back stop at the gas station, cashes a check, pays the electricity and phone bills, picks up some clothes from the cleaners, quickly goes to the market.

It was 1:00 already, he made the beds, took the clothes out of the washer and put another load in, he vacuumed the house, made some rice, went to pick up the kids from school, had an argument with the kids. As soon as he got home he fed the kids, washed the dirty dishes, he hung the damp clothes he had washed on the chairs, because it was raining outside. He helped the kids with their homework, watched some TV while he ironed some clothes, prepared dinner, he gave the kids a bath and put them to sleep.
At 9:00 he was so tired and he went to bed. Of course there was some more duties and some how he managed to get them done and finally fell a sleep.

The next morning he prays to God once again: Oh Lord, what was I thinking when I asked you to grant my wish, I can't take it anymore. I beg you please switch me back to myself, please... oh please.

Then he heard God's voice speaking to him, saying: Dear son, of course I'll switch you back into yourself but there's one minor detail, you will have to wait 9 months because last night you got pregnant.
